Background:
We are always on the hunt for talented individuals with an interest in creative multimedia that would like to help to create fun/safe spaces for young people. These spaces are dedicated to providing young people with the opportunity to explore their creativity and learn new skills.
Silverbox Kids creates multimedia workshops for children aged 8 - 16 years with a slant towards film-making.
We have been operating across the South East for 18 years.
Our regular activities include: After School Clubs, Weekend Clubs, Holiday Schools, School based (curriculum focused) multimedia projects and 121 tuition.
Hours:
Various based on active projects.
Typical availability would be weekdays for 2 hours between 3pm - 6pm
The Role:
We don't require you to have past experience in film-making, just a passion for the subject. You will need to be comfortable with using technology at the very least.
Our main priority is that you enjoy working with young people and don't mind getting a little silly when the moment calls for it. There is an expectation that you will be a good role model for the students. You will be supporting our Workshop Manager and Workshop Leader. They will be chiefly in charge of student welfare and behaviour during the workshops but you will be expected to help with reporting concerns to management.
As part of our dedication to safety you will be required to pass and maintain an enhanced DBS check in order to be considered for the role as well as undergo safeguarding training where required. We will provide this to any successful candidates.
Responsibilities:
Helping with setup/breakdown.
Supporting students while they undertake activities.
Reporting to management any observations or concerns.
Supporting safety policies.
Reinforce club rules as set out by the workshop manager.
Build a friendly, professional relationship with students.
Present oneself as a positive role model.
Wear Silverbox uniform and maintain appropriate appearance.
Required Skills:
Confidence.
Punctuality.
Ability to multitask.
Desired Skills:
Past film-making or creative digital media experience is desired but not essential.
